{"id":538,"date":"2015-02-06T12:13:51","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T17:13:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/?p=538"},"modified":"2015-02-06T12:13:51","modified_gmt":"2015-02-06T17:13:51","slug":"birdsong-spring-is-coming-to-nj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/birdsong-spring-is-coming-to-nj\/","title":{"rendered":"Birdsong&#8211;Spring is Coming to NJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The past few days have been pretty cold, with mostly the normal suspects. \u00a0This morning I finally got a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/common-grackle\/\">Common Grackle<\/a> for the year. \u00a0But the big news is that birds are really starting to sing, and I&#8217;ve added several more species to the audio recording big year. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/?s=northern+cardinal\">Northern Cardinals<\/a> are singing every morning, as are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/?s=titmouse\">Tufted Titmouse<\/a>, and this week the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/song-sparrow\/\">Song Sparrow <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.backyardbigyear.com\/blog\/house-finch\/\">House Finches<\/a> in my yard started to sing. \u00a0So even though it seems like the heart of winter (it was 3\u00baF this morning), the singing birds mean that spring is on its way!
