2015 Yard FOY Chipping Sparrow, at seed under the feeders on the patio.<\/p><\/div>\n

In case there was any question, spring is in the air. \u00a0Today brought 5 new birds for the year–first a Savannah Sparrow<\/strong> picked up calling overhead in passage by my OldBird21c microphone overnight. \u00a0This morning a Field Sparrow<\/strong> was singing, and 2 Double-crested Cormorants<\/strong> flew past the yard (scope views, very distant to the north). \u00a0A Belted Kingfisher<\/strong> also flew by, and last but not least the first Chipping Sparrow<\/strong> of the year showed up under the feeders.<\/p>\n

Plenty of birds were moving overnight. \u00a0In addition to the Savannah Sparrow, my microphone caught several Great Blue Herons<\/strong> moving overhead, as well as Canada Geese<\/strong>, a couple of Killdeer,<\/strong> and a Chipping Sparrow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
